Hello Families and Students,
There are a few important updates that we need to share with families and students.
1. Ministry Assessments:
The Ministry of Education just announced late yesterday that ALL Ministry Assessments for the January sitting are CANCELLED! Here is what we know at this point:
“Due to the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic, the January administration session of the provincial graduation assessments is cancelled. No Grade 12 students who are on track to graduate in the 2021/22 school year will be impacted by this cancellation. Further information on upcoming sessions will be provided by mid-February, including a question and answer document to support conversations with students and parents.”
When we get more information we will share it with families and students.
2. IB Info
Applications for Pre-IB and IB programs are now available on our school website at this link: https://remss.sd35.bc.ca/programs-courses/i-b/online-applications/. Applications will be open until January 31, 2022. Please note that all students currently in Pre-IB who wish to continue in the program and new applicants who would like to join Pre-IB or IB must complete an application to indicate their interest. More information on the Pre-IB and IB Programs at REMSS can be found here: https://remss.sd35.bc.ca/programs-courses/i-b/. If you have further questions, please email Ms. Costopoulos at tcostopoulos@sd35.bc.ca.
Course Planning for IB 11(Diploma and Certificate): Students applying for IB 11 will be contacted for individual course planning appointments with Ms. Costopoulos.
3. PAC Meeting – January 25, 2022 via Zoom

4. Transition Days and First day of Semester 2
Please remember that January 27 and January 28 are Transition Days. The only students in attendance on this day are:
1. Students completing Capstone Presentations
2. Students invited into the school by their teachers to complete “I-Plans”
Monday January 31st is Semester Turn-Around day – no students in attendance
First Day of Semester 2 is Tuesday February 2nd.
