Project Outreach is a club that seeks to raise money and awareness for important causes in our local community. Two organizations that we support are the Ishtar Transition Housing Society (Langley) and Directions Youth Services (Vancouver)
Directions Youth Services is a shelter for homeless and at-risk youth. We host fundraisers and activities throughout the year to raise money and materials for them. One of these activities is our annual scarf drive, in which we collect scarves and warm clothing during the winter months to donate to Directions.
Ishtar Transition Housing Society is also an organization we support. Ishtar provides housing for women and children from abusive households. This year, some of our scarves also went to Ishtar.
We also participate in a variety of other activities throughout the year, such as our school’s Christmas Hamper and the Downs Syndrome Research Society’s Christmas Tree Auction.
Our meetings are every Tuesday in the sewing room at lunch. New members are always welcome!
