The Langley School District’s Vision is to be an Innovative, Inspiring and Unified Learning Community – hoping to inspire all learners to reach their full potential and create a positive legacy for the future. At R.E. Mountain Secondary, we aim to embody these principles through engaging classes that combine flexibility with rigour, seeking to find ways for students to explore their passions whether through their course work or activities held outside the normal school day. We seek to foster students who act with integrity, build and serve community, who are courageous and reach for excellence.
As an International Baccalaureate school, the attributes of the learner profile also inform the hopes we have for our students as they attend and graduate from our school. Those attributes are to be: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced and Reflective – Learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right (International Baccalaureate).
We at R.E. Mountain seek to serve our students, no matter what their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, intelligence or talent. We are all one student body and so, there is a place for all of us. We seek not only to accept, but to honour everyone’s background, so that we all can feel free to be who we are while we learn, create and contribute to those around us.
