We had scheduled a Pre-IB and IB information evening for parents on Tuesday, January 11th at 7:00pm. Unfortunately, due to the current health restrictions on gatherings, we are no longer able to hold this meeting.
Instead, we have released an information video on the Pre-IB and IB programs which is posted to our website. This video is intended for parents of students in Grades 8, 9 and 10 who are interested in learning more about these two district programs that are offered at REMSS. The video addresses everything you need to know about the IB as a university preparation program as well as the application process.
On Tuesday, January 11th at 7:00pm, REMSS will be hosting a LIVE Q&A session online with the IB Coordinator for parents who have any questions about the programs after watching the information video. The link to the Q&A session is here: https://tinyurl.com/4r7pxs89
Applications for the Pre-IB and IB programs are now available on our website remss.sd35.bc.ca and will be open from January 4 – January 31, 2022 (extended by one week) .
FAQ about IB
REMSS Pre-IB Program
The REMSS Pre-IB Program, in Grades 9 and 10, is an academic program that is designed to prepare students for the challenges of the IB Diploma Programme. While the curriculum for Pre-IB 9 and 10 is the same as the BC Ministry curriculum, there is an additional focus on subject knowledge and skills required for success in the IB. It is highly advised that students who would like to pursue the IB Diploma in Grade 11 apply for the Pre-IB program.
