LANGUAGE CHALLENGE EXAM
Language Challenge Exam Information
If you came to Canada before finishing Grade 9 and haven’t been able to get your Grade 11 or 12 Language Credit, or if you have a strong background in another language, you might want to consider taking the Language Challenge Exam. The Delta School District, in partnership with the Coast-Metro Challenge Consortium, allows students to challenge these exams and earn their credit.

Students interested in challenging a language course must write a Language Challenge Exam. To participate, please follow these steps:
- Complete an Online Application: Begin by filling out the application form online. Once completed, print out the application and bring it to Mr. Kemp, school counsellor.
- Application Review: To finalize the submission, please book a brief appointment with Mr. Kemp to go over the completed form.
- Required Documentation: Ensure that you attach the following to your application:
- – A $50 cheque, which will be refunded after the test is written, or pay online and bring the receipt with your application.
- – International students must include a cheque for $205, which is non-refundable, or pay online and bring the receipt with your application.
- – A passport-type photo.
- Complete Application Pages: Students are responsible for completing pages 7 – 11 of the application. Page 9 must be typed.
- Submission Deadline: Completed application forms must be submitted to Mr. Kemp for approval by October 30, 2024.
